One of the biggest reason in my opinion for the lowered(better?) pricing is quite possibly that NVIDIA do not want to loose market share to AMD.
AMD slowly ate away at INTEL’s market share and INTEL it seems was asleep at the wheel.
It has gotten to a point that AMD’s ryzen is the best recommended processors..
